KARACHI, Pakistan: Unknown gunmen opened fire at a religious gathering in Nazimabad area of Karachi on Saturday which left five persons including a woman dead.

Sources said that assailants entered a tent set up for religious gathering outside the residence of a police official in Nazimabad No 4 area and opened fire at the participants.

Resultantly, four men died on the spot while a woman received serious injuries.

The dead bodies and injured woman was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

“Four men were brought to Abbasi Shaheed as dead while a woman was brought with fatal injuries,” an official of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital said. He said that the woman later succumbed to her injuries while getting treatment.

Meanwhile, the Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and the Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took serious notice of the incident of killing in Karachi’s Nazimabad area.

The Inspector General of Sindh Police sought detailed report from DIG West about the incident.
