ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Education, Professional Training & National Heritage Shafqat Mahmood has said that the National Culture Policy is being drafted for the first time in the Country which will help to standardize the culture-related work.

In a meeting with a delegation of the British Council which led by its Regional Director for South Asia Adrian Chadwick met him in Islamabad on Wednesday, the minister said that the National Culture Policy will also be valuable to ascend the tourism sector of the country.

Shafqat Mahmood said that the Karachi National Museum, which manifests the Gandhara civilization, will be uplifted to the international standards and Karachiites would feel proud on this state of the art museum. In this regard, the British Council will provide technical help in capacity building of the staff.

The federal minister also apprised the delegation about setting-up an autonomous institution of National Accreditation Council which would revamp the entire certification regime after evaluating the Technical educational vocational Training Institutions.

The British Council also presented an invitation of Culture & Heritage Festival to Shafqat Mahmood which is being held in Edinburgh from August 22-24, 2020, and a large number of culture ministers across the world are participating in it.
