ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: First Pakistani woman tourist on motorbike concluded her 22 days journey and reached Islamabad on Monday from different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Her journey was sponsored by Pakistan Tourism Development Cooperation (PTDC) on special instructions of its Managing Director Abdul Ghafoor.
While addressing a press conference in Islamabad Club on conclusion of her journey Gul Afshan Tariq said that Pakistan was one of the beautiful countries of the World.
Out of 14 highest peaks in the world, 5 lied in Pakistan including K-2, the second highest peak in the world which was a challenge for mountaineers, she added.
Pakistan has a huge treasure of ancient civilizations like Indus Valley and Gandhara civilizations. Now the law and order situation in the country has improved which is very suitable for tourism, said a press release issued here.
Gul Afshan Tariq is Cyclist support women who attempted another record in Pakistan by starting her motor bike ride in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhaw province from Islamabad from May 6, 2017.
Her 22 days tour included destinations like Dir, Chitral, Mastuj, Bumburet, Saidu Sharif, Malam Jabba, Kalam, Besham, Balakot, Shogran, Naran, Bobusar, Kohat, Harripur and Peshawar covering 1500 kilometers.
This adventurous and amazing motor ride will project soft image of Pakistan as a peaceful country and highlighted tourist attractions of Pakistan to the world.
This message will go to the entire world that Pakistan is a safe country where a woman all alone can travel on motor bike without any fear.
She thanked Managing Director PTDC for all the arrangements of her 22 days visit.
Manager (Publicity and Promotion) Mukhtar Ali said that this organization was committed to promote and develop tourism in Pakistan and we were glad that this woman has achieved a milestone for creating a soft and tourist friendly image of the country.
In future, PTDC will continue its objective by supporting youth to know about their own country.
