ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has short-listed the 11 contractors for the construction of interchanges at Islamabad Expressway and tender will be floated in next week.
Talking to APP, Project Director of Islamabad Expressway Shahid Mehmood said that 22 contractors have submitted their expression of interest (EOI) and after reviewing, CDA has considered 50% applications and sent to the Chairman Maroof Afzal for a final approval.
He told that CDA will issue tenders for the construction of five interchanges on Islamabad Expressway in coming week.
Project Director said that five interchanges would be constructed at five different localities including Sohan, Khanna, Karal, Japan Road and GT Road on Islamabad Expressway. Work on these interchanges would be completed within a period of six months, he added.
Initially, Karal Interchange would be constructed. Later on, work for the expansion of road will be started.
This project includes expansion of 8.5-kilometer road from Faizabad to Karal chowk to five lanes and construction of four lanes 12.5-kilometer road from Koral to GT Road. 25 kilometer road would be completed from Zero Point to Rawat as part of Islamabad Expressway signal free corridor.
This project would be completed at the cost of Rs 21.8 billion.
