QUETTA, Pakistan: At least five militants were killed while two security personnel also lost their lives in two separate clashes in Balochistan on Tuesday.
In an exchange of fire occurred in Gwadar district of Balochistan after the security forces conducted a raid in the area on Tuesday morning, three persons including a militant and two security personnel were killed.
The operation was carried out hours after a group of militants attacked the air traffic control radar in Pasni area of the Gwadar district, according to a spokesman for the Frontier Corps (FC) Khan Wasey.
Late on Monday night, militants launched an attack on air traffic control radar of Pasni airport with rockets. However, personnel of the airport security force foiled the assault.
The FC spokesperson said that one militant involved in attacking Pasni radar station was killed during the exchange of fire with the security forces. He said that arms were also recovered from the possession of arrested militants.
Separately, security forces killed four militants in Awaran district of Balochistan.
A security official said that the militants opened fire at a convoy of security forces in Mashkay area of Awaran.
In response, the security forces retaliated by killing four of the militants.
