RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The security forces have killed at least five militants in an encounter at the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan agency on Friday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The ISPR said that the encounter took place during a search operation carried out by the security forces in the area.
It said that one security personnel also embraced martyrdom in the encounter.
The Pakistan army is engaged in a full-fledged operation Zarb-e-Azb against various banned terror organizations in North Waziristan since June last year.
On Thursday, addressing the passing out parade of first special combat unit of Balochistan in Quetta, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the war against terrorism would continue till its logical end.
The prime minister expressed the confidence that the nation would win this war as it was a matter of survival of Pakistan’s future generations and economic stability.
