SANGHAR, Pakistan: President Dr. Arif Alvi assured that the flood-affected people will not be left alone in this hour of trial and they will be fully supported.
While addressing a ceremony in connection with the distribution of ration amongst the flood-affected people in Sindh’s Sanghar district on Saturday, the president said that no provincial area will be neglected whilst the provision of relief.
Dr. Arif Alvi appreciated the efforts of the Governor Sindh Imran Ismail in the ongoing relief efforts.
Stressing upon the federal and provincial governments to work in close collaboration to provide relief to the flood-affected people of Sindh, the president said that it is also the desire of Prime Minister Imran Khan to work collectively to address the problems of the people of Sindh province.
The president said that the way the Pakistani government and people successfully tackled the problem of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has become an example for the world.
President Arif Alvi said that the policy of smart lockdown helped protect the lives and livelihoods. He said that Pakistan is the most successful Country in the world which tackled the COVID-19.
Furthermore, he said that under the Ehsaas Program, cash assistance of Rs 12,000 was provided to millions of deserving families in the most transparent manner and without any discrimination.

Separately, speaking at a Ration Distribution Ceremony for rain and flood-affected people in Mirpur Khas, the president said that protection of the rights of people and providing them assistance in critical hours is the main responsibility of the state.
The president appreciated the role of NGOs working in Badin, Sanghar, Sukkur, and other parts of Sindh for their relief activities.
