ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Country has so far witnessed the death of 1,697 people and injuries of further 12,867 induced by floods since June 14, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
During the period, 1,163,008 livestock have also been lost as well as a total of 13097.98 kilometers roads and 440 bridges have been damaged in the Country.
Meanwhile, flood relief efforts by Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) continue across the Country.
Pakistan Army Relief Efforts
Aviation Efforts
So far 627 Army Aviation helicopters sorties have been flown to various areas for evacuation of stranded people.
Moreover, uptill now 4,659 stranded Individuals have been evacuated through helicopter sorties.
Relief Camps/ Relief Items Collection Points
So far 147 Relief Camps and 158 Relief Collection points in Sindh, South Punjab & Balochistan have been established across the country for flood affectees.
Donations
Uptill now 10013.3 tons of food items along with 1778.1 tons of sustenance items and 14,755,134 medicine items have been collected so far.
However, 9979.5 tons of food 1769.9 tons of sustenance items and 14,676,974 medicine items have been distributed uptill now.
Medical Relief
More than 300 medical camps established so far in which more than 1,136,787 patients have been treated all across the country and provided 3-5 days’ free medicine.
Pakistan Navy Relief and Rescue Efforts
PN established 4 Flood Relief Centers and 18 Central Collection Points all across the Country. These Collection Centers have distributed 2,081 tons ration, 7,609 tents & 741,039 liter mineral water in various districts.
In addition, 22 tent cities have also been established where 32,309 personnel have been accommodated.
Moreover, Pakistan Navy’s 23 Emergency Response teams (ERTs) deployed all over Pakistan have rescued 15,578 stranded personnel. These ERTs are equipped with 54 motorized boats and 2 hovercraft. Pakistan Navy has also deployed 2 helicopters in interior Sindh.
Uptill now, in 71 sorties, these helicopters rescued 481 stranded people and distributed 5,333 packets of ration. 8 Diving Teams of Pakistan Navy have also carried out 28 Diving Operations in affected areas across the Pakistan.
Pakistan Navy has also established 100 Medical Camps in which 121,442 patients have been treated till to date.
Pakistan Air Force Relief and Rescue Efforts
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has provided 6,639 tents, 733,881 food packages, 4235.43 tons of ration, 291,733 liter fresh water, for the flood affectees.
Moreover, PAF has established 46 Medical Camps where 78,549 patients have been treated so far. 24 tent cities accommodating 19,807 people, 54 relief camps and 3 Central Aviation Hubs all across the Country have also been established.
PAF also carried out 268 sorties and evacuated 1,521 people from the flood affected areas.
