The Interim Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani attended the 3rd Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation in Nyingchi in Tibet, the Autonomous Region of China.
Jilani represented Pakistan at the event being held on October 4-5 at the special invitation of the Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi.
In his keynote address, Jalil Abbas Jilani emphasized the importance of regional cooperation for green development, ecological preservation and geographical connectivity and for inclusive and sustainable development.
The Trans-Himalaya Forum was initiated in 2018 to deepen practical cooperation among regional countries on diverse subjects including geographical connectivity, environmental protection, ecological preservation, and enhancing cultural linkages.
The last in-person meeting of the Forum was held in 2019.
The theme of this year’s Forum is “Ecological Civilization and Environmental Protection.”
Earlier, the Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani held a fruitful meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister Sainbuyan of Mongolia in Tibet.
During the meeting, the two dignitaries agreed to further deepen mutually beneficial Pakistan-Mongolia relationship; deepen trade & economic cooperation specially in the field of mining, agriculture and textile.

During his stay in Tibet, Foreign Minister Jilani will also meet the Foreign Minister of China and the Interim Foreign Minister of Afghanistan.
