ISLAMABAD: Declaring it a drama, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Tuesday rejected federal government-formed commission for creation of new provinces, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
During a session of the Senate led by Chairman Nayyar Bukhari, PML-N senators presented their reservations over the issue of formation of new provinces in Punjab during point of objection.
Chauhdry Jaffar Iqbal, PML- N Senator, said that Punjab Assembly passed unanimous resolution for restoration of Bahawalpur province and formation of Southern Punjab province and his party will accept only that report which would be prepared under Punjab Assembly’s resolution.
He said that after one year’s delay from the unanimous resolution of Punjab Assembly on new provinces, now federal government intends to open a new Pandora Box by rendering slogan of making Southern Punjab province.
Senator Ishaque Dar said that they reject commission on formation of new provinces and claimed that this dram of new province’s creation will flop miserably.
