ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary on Saturday announced to create a political party namely ‘Pakistan Justice Democratic Critic Party’.
While talking at the launching ceremony of ‘Pakistan Justice Democratic Critic Party’ in Islamabad on Saturday, the former Chief Justice said that his party would only welcome the non-corrupt people, stating that the main purpose of his party is to solve the problems of people.
He said that his party would work over 25-points-Agenda including health, education and land reforms. Provision of justice to the common man would be the basic manifesto of his party, he added
The ceremony was attended by lawyers, Civil Society agents and others.
Earlier, Former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had said that he would announce his political party and manifesto on December 25.
The 66-year-old Iftikhar Chaudhry was appointed as the 18th Chief Justice of Pakistan by the then President Pervez Musharraf on June 30, 2005. In 2007 Musharraf asked him to resign which he refused, therefore leading to his suspension on November 3, 2007. He was restored on March 22, 2009 and later he retired on December 11, 2013.
Iftikhar Chaudhry was one of those whom the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan accused of having played a key role in alleged rigging in 2003 general elections.
