ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Commander-In-Chief of 41-Nation Islamic Alliance against Terrorism General (retd) Raheel Sharif met the Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on regional peace and stability besides discussing matters of mutual interest.

The former Pakistan Army Chief Raheel Sharif apprised the foreign minister about the measures taken by the alliance against terrorism.

The foreign minister lauded the efforts of the alliance against terrorism.

The Saudi-led Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition (IMCTC) was established on December 15, 2015 and initially its members were 34 and now it members are 41.

Earlier last night, General (retd) Raheel Sharif also held two separate meetings with the Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at army’s general headquarters in Rawalpindi.

Raheel Sharif discussed matters of mutual interest including regional peace and stability with the CJCSC and the COAS.

His visit to Pakistan comes ahead of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud’s scheduled arrival to Islamabad later this week.
