PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The security forces killed at least four militants in an exchange of fire that took place in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.
The official source said that that the security forces were conducting a search operation in Khel area of Bannu. In the meant time, a group of militants opened fire on the security forces.
As a result, an encounter began between the two sides which left at least four militants dead while another injured.
20 militants arrested in Hangu, Kurram agency
Separately, at least 20 militants were taken into custody when the law enforcement agencies conducted search operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu district and the Kurram tribal region.
The sources said that a huge quantity of arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of arrested militants.
Firing on car in Peshawar, four killed
In another violent incident, unknown assailants opened fire on a car in Thehkal area of Peshawar that left four persons dead.
Later, the security forces arrested five armed assailants involved in the car firing incident.
