ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The under-construction G-7/G-8 underpass at Faisal Avenue in Islamabad will be completed on September 30 and will eventually be opened for traffic.
The construction of the underpass at Faisal Avenue is a long-awaited public welfare project which was direly needed to cater for the traffic issues faced by the commuters.
The construction work on the underpass was initiated by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in January 2020; however, the work was stalled amid the hike in COVID-19 Cases but later in May it was resumed.
Earlier on Friday, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on CDA Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan visited the under-construction underpass and issued the directive for its speedy completion.
Meanwhile, Ali Nawaz Awan accompanied by the MNA Raja Khurram Nawaz will visit the PWD underpass and Korang Bridge at Islamabad Expressway at 12:00 pm on Sunday.
The groundbreaking of the PWD underpass and Korang Bridge along with the Rawal Dam Chowk Interchange was performed by Prime Minister Imran Khan on July 2.
The construction of the PWD Underpass project and Korang Bridge will also be executed by the CDA in 7 and 15 months respectively.
The projects are being funded through the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).
