LAHORE: Punjab Governor Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood resigned on Monday from the post following Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz’s (PML-N) clean sweep in Punjab.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, he said his resignation had been sent to President Asif Ali Zardari. He said after the elections it was privilege of the new Government to bring its own candidates against constitutional offices.
The Governor said he would keep himself away from parliamentary politics.
