Govt has accepted Imran Khan’s all demands except PM’s resignation: Saad

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal minister for railway Khawaja Saad Rafique said on Thursday that the government accepted five demands of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) but Imran Khan is not ready to withdraw his demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif which is not acceptable.

In a news conference held in Islamabad on Thursday, the minister said that the government is still serious to resolve the political crisis through dialogue.

Saad Rafique urged both Imran Khan and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri not to make hostage the parliament and allow the state institutions to continue their duties. He also called upon both the leaders to resolve their issues through the parliament.

The railway minister said that the two protesting leaders broke their promises of not entering the red zone, but the government will demonstrate restraint.

Govt decides to register FIR in model town tragedy

Khawaja Saad Rafique said that the government has decided to register a First Information Report (FIR) in model town tragedy in accordance with the orders of the Session Court.

The minister said that despite having fundamental right to file an appeal against the judgment of the Lahore High Court registration of a FIR against the prime minister and other cabinet members, the government has decided not to go for another appeal which shows its desire to resolve the issues through peaceful means.
