ISLAMABAD: The government is likely to withdraw Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh’s name for the post of caretaker Prime Minister, hours after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) withdrew one of its nominees for the post, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Friday.
Earlier in the day, the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan rejected all three nominees proposed by Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf for caretaker PM.
On Thursday, in a letter written to the opposition leader, the prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf had proposed the names of former Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, former director State Bank Dr Ishrat Hussain, and former chief justice of the Balochistan High Court, Mir Hazar Khan Khoso for caretaker PM.
