ISLAMABAD: The federal government has paid Rs 322 billion circular debt to Independent Power Producers (IPPs) to reduce load-shedding.
In an interview on Friday‚ Secretary Finance Dr Waqar Masood Khan said those IPPs who had gone to court have agreed to withdraw the case against the government after payment of their outstanding dues.
The secretary finance said the IPPs have been asked to enhance power generation to cope with the load-shedding.
