ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary on Thursday told the Senate that government was taking steps to remove illegal encroachments from residential and commercial sectors of the Capital.
While answering questions in Senate he said, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Enforcement Directorate was entrusted with removing encroachments across the city.
He said arrangements were being made to remove the encroachments from residential and commercial areas in all sectors of Islamabad as 12 dedicated teams were deployed across the city headed by the Inspector level officer in this regard.
He said the vigilance section was also functional under Director (Enforcement), CDA reporting under cover and a control room was also functional with a contact number 051-9252601, for general public to launch general complaints, he added.
He said CDA inter departmental coordination along with ICT Administration, Police and other stakeholders was giving positive result in this regard.
He said 50,000 canal land in zone 4 belongs to CDA and the department was acquiring the land from the people.
Tariq Fazal said commercial activities in residential area of Sector G-5 and F-12 were going on and government was taking action against the violators.
He said most of the hotels were existing on designated plots and added that strict action would be taken against illegal occupants.
