ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has directed Universities to uphold academic standards and to fulfil all requisite criteria in quantitative and qualitative terms.
In a letter issued to Vice Chancellors (VCs), Rectors and Directors of all Public and Private Universities, the ECP discouraged all Universities from enrolling students more than twice in an academic year while summer programmes are meant for improvement of courses and fulfilment of deficiency only.
The HEC maintained in its letter that official bank accounts of all Universities should be maintained for all kinds of fee transactions.
The HEC asked Universities that due diligence and compliance of HEC-prescribed semester guidelines must be exercised for issuance of degrees, transcripts or detailed marks certificate.
