ISLAMABAD: A high level meeting was held in Islamabad on Friday with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair, during which issues pertaining to national security including the internal and external threats being faced by the country were discussed.
The meeting was attended by Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt. General Zaheerul Islam, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and other high officials.
The sources said that during the meeting, the overall security situation in the country, peace talks with the Taliban, and the prime minister’s recent meeting with new Indian counterpart Narendra Modi came under discussion.
