ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A high-level meeting was held in Islamabad on Thursday with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair to review the internal and regional security situation.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb as well as the recent escalation of the tension at the Line of Control (LoC) and the working boundary.
The meeting was attended by the interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the defence minister Khawaja Asif, the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, the Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Zaheerul Islam and the DG designate ISI Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar.
