ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal government planned to increase the higher educational institutions in the country under Higher Education Commission (HEC) vision 2025.
According to an official of the HEC in Islamabad on Monday, the government, in this regard, has allocated more than Rs 35 billion in the next budget.
Under the project, as many as 150 community colleges would be established at all districts across the country to produce skilled work force.
Around 15 new research universities would also be established in which the programmes relating technologies, medicines, agriculture, communication and health would be studied.
The establishment of more than 100 smart campuses of different government universities in the far flung areas of the country was also included in the project.
The sub-campuses of the FATA university in all agencies was also part of the project, sources added.
