RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The unannounced hours-long power outages in Rawalpindi’s NA-61 Constituency areas including Misrial Road and Dhoke Syedan have caused resentment among local dwellers as it has disturbed students’ educational activities since they are forced to take Online Classes following the closure of educational institutions.
The 4 to 5 hour long load-shedding has become a routine matter in adjacent areas of NA-61 including Bait-e-Sada Colony, Dhoke Syedan, Misrial Road, Misrial Village, Friends Colony, Dhoke Gujran, Officers Colony, and Range Road.
The frequent power outages also interrupted Online Classes and Assessment Tests to be conducted by the Beaconhouse School System and other Private Schools.
The local people were of the view that all Private Institutions had already been shut down to curtail the Coronavirus disease, and their children were left with no option but to take Online Classes and undergo Assessment Tests as per the new guidelines issued by their respective Schools.
They said that the Online Classes take place from 09:00 am to 02:00 pm every day; however, since power outages are so frequent in the morning hours, their children’s education is hugely suffering, adding to their mental stress.
They also grumbled about the apathy of elected public representatives as they were seen nowhere to mitigate their sufferings, and yet they have to pay heavy money on account of electricity bills.
