KABUL, Afghanistan: An improvised explosive device (IED) planted along a roadside went off in northern Afghanistan on Friday, killing at least eight persons including children and injuring 13 others.
The blast took place in Baraka district of Baghlan province.
The district chief Taj Muhammad confirmed the incident and said that the blast took place in a market on Friday afternoon.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
