PESHAWAR, Pakistan: An improvised explosive device (IED) blast occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan District on Tuesday, killing one security personnel and injuring three others.
The incident took place on Hatala-Kulachi road where a vehicle of the security personnel struck a bomb planted on the roadside while it was going to Kulachi from Dera Ismail Khan.
Resultantly, subedar Khalid lost his life while three security personnel sustained injuries.
The rescue and security teams rushed to the blast site and shifted the injured to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) D I Khan for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the IED blast in Dera Ismail Khan.
In a statement released by the TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani, the group claimed responsibility for the attack.
