PESHAWAR, Pakistan: An improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Tirah Valley of Khyber agency on Monday, killing five people including a levies man.
Security sources said that the blast took place in AkaKhel area of Tirah Valley, and the bomb was detonated through a remote control.
They said that the IED explosion occurred near the vehicle of a Peace Committee which resulted in deaths of five people.
Security sources further said that four of the deceased persons were volunteers of the Peace Committee while one was levies officer.
Those deceased Peace Committee volunteers included, Zarwali Khan, Amir Nawaz, Hameed Khan and Noor Khan whereas the levies officer was identified as Abdul Manan.
Security sources also told that the vehicle was completely damaged in the blast.
