ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday directed the federal government to appoint the Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) within 15 days.
A single bench of the IHC chaired by Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui was hearing the appointment of chairman HEC case in Islamabad on Monday.
During the hearing, the federal secretary education told the bench that the prime minister has turned down the summary sent by the ministry for the appointment of chairman HEC.
In his remarks, Justice Shaukat Siddiqui said that it was a slap on the judicial system that despite government assurances, the chairman HEC hasn’t been appointed.
Siddiqui further said that it would be better the government itself appoints the chairman HEC within 15 days or else.
