ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday directed the authorities concerned to prepare a strategy for removal of illegal slums from the federal capital.
The IHC’s Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui was hearing the case in Islamabad on Wednesday.
During the hearing, he said that there are political and administrative factors behind the emergence of illegal slums in the capital territory.
The Interior Secretary told the court that a policy has been prepared for the removal of slums. He said that there are 14 illegal slums in the federal capital and soon an action will be initiated against them.
The hearing of the case was adjourned till April 23.
