ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Islamabad College for Boys (ICB) in G-6/3 and Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) in F-7/4 have been sealed for one week following the emergence of Coronavirus Cases.
The District Health Office (DHO) Islamabad issued the sealing notification after more Coronavirus Cases are reported from IMCG F-7/4 and three staff members resulted positive in the ICB G-6/3.
The DHO said that the institution buildings will be disinfected and contact tracing will be carried out. It said that measures are being taken to ensure the safety of students and school staff.
Furthermore, it said that any institute getting more than two positive cases will be sealed on an immediate basis.
Both the above-mentioned institutions will be re-opened on October 12 subject to clearance from the DHO.
The DHO urged all Heads of Institutions to keep adopting measures to strictly follow the prescribed SOPs without any compromise.
Meanwhile, according to the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, as of now 26 Shops, 5 Hotels, 6 Schools have been sealed in Islamabad for violation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) devised to curb the outbreak of COVID-19.
On September 2, 3,515 tests were conducted to diagnose the Coronavirus in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and out of them, 63 resulted positive.
So far, a total of 16,713 people have been infected by COVID-19 in the ICT and 183 have succumbed to it. However, 15,983 COVID-19 patients have recovered now.
