ISLAMABAD: International Monetary Fund (IMF) has offered about 5 billion dollars Extended Fund Facility (EFF) to help Pakistan repay its debt.

Adviser on Finance Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhry has said that International Monetary Fund (IMF) has offered about 5 billion dollars Extended Fund Facility (EFF) to help Pakistan repay its debt.

Talking to media in Islamabad he said talks with IMF went extremely well and the fund’s attitude was extremely positive which is keen to engage with the new government in a dialogue.

He said Pakistani delegation during the visit of Washington has neither signed any deal with the IMF nor it finalized anything because it was the prerogative of the elected government.

He hopes the new government will have sufficient range of options to proceed further.
