ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked the United States to conduct the assessment of its failure in Afghanistan instead of making Pakistan a scapegoat.
In response to the US President Donald Trump’s anti-Pakistan remarks, Imran Khan took to the twitter on Monday and said that record needs to be put straight on Donald Trump’s tirade against Pakistan.
The prime minister said that no Pakistani was involved in 9/11 terrorist attack on World Trade Center in New York but Pakistan decided to participate in the US War on terror. He said that resultantly, Pakistan suffered 75,000 casualties in this war and over $123 billion was lost to its economy. However, he added that the US aid to Pakistan was a miniscule $20 billion.
Imran Khan further said that our tribal areas were devastated & millions of people were uprooted from their homes. He said that the war on terror drastically impacted lives of ordinary Pakistanis. But yet, he added that, Pakistan continues to provide the US free lines of ground & air communications (GLOCs/ALOCs).
“Can Mr Donald Trump name another ally that gave such sacrifices?,” Imran Khan asked.
Moreover, Imran said that instead of making Pakistan a scapegoat for their failures, the US should do a serious assessment that why despite 1,40,000 NATO troops & additional 250,000 Afghan troops, and reportedly $one trillion have been spent on the war in Afghanistan, today the Afghan Taliban are stronger than before.

Last Sunday, the US President Donald Trump in an exclusive interview with Fox News accused Pakistan of not doing anything for the United States.
“They [Pakistan] don’t do a damn thing for us,” Trump said.
