RENALA KHURD: Pursuing Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s election campaign on Tuesday, PTI chief Imran Khan addressed a large public meeting in Punjab’s Okara district, promising to steer the country out of crises if voted into power.
“Our party is gaining popularity day by day across the country which has frightened Sharif brothers,” Khan said while addressing thousands of his supporters in Renala Khurd town.
“Government is spending 400 million rupees on the security of Sharif family and more than 1200 police personnel are providing security to them,” Khan claimed, saying that they [Sharifs] stayed with PPP government for three years and now criticizing President Zardari.
He challenged Nawaz Sharif for an open debate over television on national issues and policies.
About former military ruler Pervez Musharraf, who is facing treason charges and has been detained in his farmhouse, Khan said “everything is being done as per the law…none is above the law”, adding that everyone including Musharraf should be held accountable for his deeds.
Imran Khan vowed that the prevailing energy crisis would be resolved within next two-and-a-half years, if his party voted to power.
