Prime Minister Imran Khan’s response to Indian decision of cancelling New York talks
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Slamming the diplomatic behavior of India, Prime Minister Imran Khan has termed it “disappointed”, “arrogant” and “negative”, and deplored the lack of foresightedness of the Indian leadership.
“Disappointed at the arrogant & negative response by India to my call for resumption of the peace dialogue. However, all my life I have come across small men occupying big offices who do not have the vision to see the larger picture,” Imran Khan said in a tweet on Saturday.

His remarks came in the backdrop of cancelling of earlier agreed bilateral talks between Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and the Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj by New Delhi in New York later this month on the sidelines of UN General Assembly Session.
Earlier this week, India while complying the suggestion of Imran Khan, he forwarded in a letter to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, agreed to negotiate on Pak-India bilateral issues on September 27 in New York wherein foreign ministers of the both the Countries were scheduled to be for the UN General Assembly Session.
However later India withdrew from its commitment and refused to hold talks with Pakistan, citing the killing of three Indian policemen in Jammu and Kashmir and the release of postage stamps of Burhan Wani as the reasons.
In response to the Indian decision of cancelling Pak-India talks in New York, Pakistan described the development as deeply disappointing, and said that the reasons cited by the Indian side for the decision to cancel the foreign ministers meeting, within 24 hours of its public confirmation, are entirely unconvincing.
