LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday lambasted the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, saying the latter was afraid of going to the Court of the public.

Talking to the elected representatives in Lahore, Shahbaz Sharif said Imran Khan raised hollow slogans of public service. He said those who had been claiming to bring changes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province had destroyed it.

Shahbaz Sharif – who was elected as the PML-N President by the party’s Central Working Committee (CWC) in its meeting held on Tuesday – said he had always done his best to come up to the expectations and trust of the public.

“Today we are honored in the public’s Court while Niazi sab is afraid of going to the Court of the public,” the Punjab Chief Minister remarked.

Meanwhile in a statement also issued in Lahore, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Media Affairs Dr Musadik Malik said PML-N had only one symbol and that was Nawaz Sharif.

Musadik Malik said the by-polls being held in the Country were referendum not polls. He said the way people had been participating in the PML-N’s public gatherings was more like a vote against the Supreme Court’s verdict against Nawaz Sharif.
