ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has been shifted from the Attock District Jail to the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, according to his lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat.
In a post on the Microblogging website X, formerly Twitter, Sher Afzal Marwat told that in the Adiala Jail, Imran Khan has been placed in a room with attached bath and other facilities as admissible under the prison rules for an ex-Prime Minister.

However, conflicting reports also emerged suggesting that he hasn’t yet been shifted to the Adiala Jail as the jail authorities have yet to receive the Court’s orders.
Earlier in the day, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Aamer Farooq directed to shift the PTI Chairman Imran Khan to Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail from the Attock Jail where he was incarcerated in the Cipher Case.
The PTI Chairman was sent to the jail on August 05, 2023 after he was convicted in the Toshakhana Case by the Additional District and Sessions Judge Hamayun Dilawar.
However, on August 29, the two-member Division Bench of the IHC comprising the Chief Justice IHC Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri suspended the sentence awarded to Imran Khan in the Toshakhana Case, and ordered to release him on bail. Though, he was never released as remained imprisoned for being under trial in the Cipher Case.
