WAZIRIABAD, Pakistan: The Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has been injured in an attack in Punjab’s Wazirabad City on Thursday, the Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said as per media reports.
The incident took place at Allah Ho Chowk in Wazirabad as the Haqeeqi Azadi Long March entered Wazirabad on its seventh day.
Dr. Yasmin Right said that Imran Khan was shot in his both legs but he is in safe condition. He was shifted to the Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore.
Reports said that one person was martyred in the attack while eight others received wounds.

Senator Faisal Javed, the former Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, and the PTI leader Ahmad Chatha were also injured in the attack.

The PTI senior leader Fawad Chaudhry told media that no death has occurred; however, several PTI leaders suffered injuries in the attack.
Fawad Chaudhry said that the attack on Imran Khan is an attack on Pakistan and they will take the revenge.
Meanwhile, the attacker has been apprehended.

Taking the notice of assassination attempt on Imran Khan, Prime Minister has summoned an immediate report from the Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, the IG Police and the Chief Secretary Punjab.

Pakistan Army’s media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) also termed the firing incident during PTI’s Long March as highly condemnable.
“Sincere prayers for precious life lost and speedy recovery and wellbeing of Chairman PTI Mr Imran Khan and all those injured in this unfortunate incident,” the ISPR said.
