LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has warned to shut down NATO supply route into Afghanistan if US-led drone strikes are carried out in the future.

Moreover, the PTI will table a resolution demanding the closure of NATO supply in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly if the drone strikes continue, Imran Khan told a gathering at Lahore Chamber of Commerce on Thursday.

The PTI chief’s statement came hours after a US drone killed at least three persons and injured three others when it fired two missiles on a compound in the Zafar Town area near Miranshah bazaar, the agency headquarters of the North Waziristan tribal region.

The Foreign Office also strongly condemned the latest US drone strike and said that these strikes are a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Imran Khan further said that the federal government should initiate the dialogue process with the Taliban, and vowed that PTI would itself hold talks if the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government further demonstrated its reluctance in this regard.
