India blames Pakistan for Gurdaspur terror attack that lasted for 11 hour and ended with 8 policemen and 3 terrorists killed

Gurdaspur, Indian Punjab: Indian Army ended Dinanagar Gurdaspur Terror operation after 8 policemen and 3 terrorists were killed. Operation ended after 11 hours fighting. Terrorists started operation after occupying police station after attacking a bus and killing 2 passengers.

Total number of death is reported as 15 including eight policemen by local media while official number released said death were eight including four policemen. Indian forces claimed they have managed to kill 3 terrorists. Forces claimed that terrorists entered from Paharpur area. Police claimed that one terrorist was arrested alive.

“There are expectation that Indians will clamp Pakistan into this terror attack through this terrorist who has been arrested alive as claimed by Indian forces”, commented one senior official of Pakistan when he was asked to respond to this terrorist attack without disclosing his identity as he was not allowed to talk with media. 

Curfew has been clamped in Dinanagar and in some other parts of Gurdaspur as Indian intelligence agencies believe that more terrorists are hiding or living inside Dinanagar area.

Terrorists attacked barracks of Indian Police commandos. Indian television Aaj Takk claimed that one woman is also with terrorists and terrorists have huge cache of weapons but they also got weapons from weapon room of Police Station. “Dinanagar looks like a war zone. Police have cordoned off entire area. Indian Army is in action and trying to clear the area”, said Surjeet while talking to Dispatch News Desk news Agency.

Army helicopters are hovering over the building where terrorists are hiding. It was biggest ever terrorist attack in Indian Punjab after 20 years.

“Army is around and the situation is under control”, said Rakesh Kaushik, SSP of Pathankot

Indian electronic media decided not to give live coverage of the event to avoid giving updates to terrorists who could have in contact with other people outside the scene and could get information about positions of police outside the standoff.

Indian Army believed that attack is similar on the patten of Kathva and Sambha attacks and Indian Army was considering to blow the entire building where terrorists are hiding.

Former Foreign Minister of Pakistan Khursheed Mahmood Kasuri was in New Delhi on Monday to attend a seminar about Indo-Pak relations when this attack took place. It may be mention that Kasuri was Pakistani foreign Minister during era of Gen (R) Musharraf.

Terror attack echoed in Indian parliament also that was in session on Monday and Modi government was in under pressure because Indian government was failed to tackle terrorists for first eight hours. Indian parliamentarians claimed that Pakistan was trying to destabilize India by sending terrorists into valley as well as in settle areas.

India media claims that terrorists have come from Pakistan. Dinanagar is 40 Km away from Line of Control of Kashmir.

Indian Punjab is at Red Alert. One SP Detective Gurdaspur Baljeet Singh killed in firing with terrorists. Indian media claimed that terrorists came from Sambha border. Punjab police confirmed 7 policemen dead in firing with terrorists.

India closed Lahore-Amartsar Border immediately after this incident and Indian Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badel said that there were information of such attack from Pakistan but border security did not work effectively.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh held meetings with NSA, IB and RAW chief. He ordered BSF to immediately move forces to Gurudaspur to assist police following attack by suspected terrorists.

 

India Punjab police claimed it found five live bombs on Amritsar-Pathankot railway track. Director General of Police claimed that terrorists took families of policemen as hostage but this news was not confirmed by official sources. Indian Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal was in contact with Indian National Security Agency (NSA). Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday spoke to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and assured him full central assistance to tackle the situation. Indian media claimed that terrorists were wearing military uniform. Dinanagar town is close to the border of Jammu and Kashmir state. It is about 235 km from Chandigarh. Terrorists fired at people near the Dinanagar bus stand and then attacked the Dinanagar police station. Eyewitnesses said the terrorists fired on a bus going towards Jammu and later moved towards the police station. Terrorists are carrying automatic weapons. According to police they carjacked Suzuki Alto from a nearby highway close to Sabzi mandi and killed his driver. Then they came to the Dinanagar bus stand around 5.30 a.m.  

Police brought in reinforcements and cordoned off the area after the attackers managed to take over the police station. Army commandos and a Quick Response Team (QRT) have also been called in. The army took over the command of the operation to capture the militants as they remained holed up in police quarters, engaging in a firefight with authorities. According to India’s ANI news agency, at least one militant was killed in the ongoing standoff. Schools and colleges were closed down in Gurdaspur was resolved. Known Indian politician Lalu Parsad Yadev held Modi government responsible for attack stating that India had a weak foreign policy towards Pakistan.
