For its another malicious and unwarranted act it had been carrying out since 2009, India has again been caught covertly influencing other Countries for its vested interests including maligning Pakistan.
India’s covert operation supervised by its premier spy agencies – Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) – was revealed when an Indian national went under trial for espionage in the Canadian Federal Court in Ottawa, stated a report by Stewart Bell published on Global News on April 17.
Citing a highly sensitive government document, the Global News reported that the accused person is the Editor-In-Chief of an unnamed Indian newspaper, and both his wife and son are Canadian Citizens.
The report said that the RAW and Indian IB had tasked the accused agent to meet the Canadian politicians as a diplomat and lure them with money for lobbing for India.
Along with the financial offers, the Canadian government representatives and politicians were also handed over materials to propagate in favour of India.

The Global News report citing the document also revealed that the Indian national was also tasked “to convince politicians that funding from Canada was being sent to Pakistan to support terrorism.”
However, during the Court proceedings, the accused Indian though admitted to have been approached by the spy agencies to perform the said task but he declined to comply that.
The report said that the startling revelations have triggered serious concerns among the Canadian government officials as how a foreign entity can covertly influence their politicians and make an attempt to destabilize their democratic system.
