ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The fascist and brutal Indian forces have been using rape as a military tactics for the last few decades to punish and humiliate Kashmiris for fighting for their just and inalienable right of right to self-determination.

This was stated by Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the wife of Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Yasin Malik, in a statement on the tragic incident of Kunan-Poshpora mass rape, perpetrated by Indian men in uniform in Kupwara district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) some three decades ago.

Mushaal Mullick, who is also Chairperson of Peace and Culture Organisation, said that inhuman Indian forces had gang-raped around 100 women of all ages from eight to eighty years old on the night of February 23 in 1991 during a siege and search operation in Kunan-poshpora area of Kupwara district.

She said that every year February 23 refreshed the wounds of Kashmiri people because of the heart-wrenching mass-rape incident, adding that the shameful tragedy of mass rape of Kashmiri women would remain as a stain and blemish in the face of so-called Indian democracy.

Lashing out at the world’s apathy, she said that barbaric Indian soldiers raped around 100 women but despite the lapse of 30 years of the tragedy, the so-called human rights organizations and UN bodies failed to force Indians to take action against the beasts involved in the barbaric act.

She noted that the Indian Army was making a mockery of justice in the name of “national interest” by and deprived thousands of women of justice, adding that India was denying access to international human rights organizations to occupied valley to expose the dirty and brutal face of Indian authorities.

She lamented that Kashmiri women are being used as a weapon of war but the world community observed criminal silence despite the fact the victims are still running from pillar to the post in search of justice.

The Chairperson stated that time ripe the international community should play its role to hold India accountable for the war crimes, as Kashmiri women are being sexually harassed, tortured and raped by Indian troops during house raids to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom sentiment.

She demanded an independent investigation into the incident to bring the culprits to book.

Mushaal further said that Indian Supreme Court did not even ready to hear the case and six of the eyewitnesses have already died so far.
