ISLAMABAD: One civilian was injured due to another act of aggression by Indian troops as they opened unprovoked firing on Pakistani posts in Shakargarh and Narowal’s Jagwal sector on Monday.

Earlier in the day, a Pakistani army official said a civilian was killed as a result of “unprovoked Indian shelling” in the Battal, Chirikot and Satwal sectors in the early hours of Monday morning. “Pakistan troops effectively responded to Indian firing,” the official said.

The sources said Indian border security force (BSF) used heavy weapons in the sixth incident of firing over across the border during the last two weeks.

They said the Indian guns fell silent after the Pakistan Rangers responded to firing in befitting manner.

Pakistan military would formally lodge a protest with the Indian border forces over the incident, sources said.
