RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Indian forces continued to target Pakistani Civilians as they once again resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling on the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
In a statement, the ISPR said that Indian unprovoked firing and shelling occurred today on LoC in Shahkot, Jura, Battal, Karela, Bagh, Bagsar, hot spring sectors.
“Indians are targeting civilian population,” the ISPR said.
It said that in retaliatory fire Pakistani troops targeting Indian posts.
“Intense exchange of firing continues (between Pakistani and Indian troops),” it added.
The cross-border firing by Indian forces doesn’t seem to be mitigated though four Pakistani Civilians were also martyred on November 21 as a result of Indian firing on LoC.
On Tuesday, Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh was summoned at the Foreign Office and conveyed Pakistan’s strong protest over Indian ceasefire violations.
The Indian side was urged to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding, and investigate the continued incidents of violations and instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire.
