New Delhi: The Ministry of Tourism, India is participating at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival to promote India as a ‘Filming Destination’. The Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

In the past, several Indian destinations have gained tourist influx by being the location of popular domestic and international movies. The Oscar winning film ‘Life of Pi’ was shot in Puducherry and Munnar (Kerala), and the MoT is promoting these destinations as the ‘Land of Pi’.

The joint participation of MoT and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting comes after signing the Memorandum of Understanding to promote Cinema of India as a sub-brand of ‘Incredible India’. This will be promoted as international film festivals like IFFI Goa, European Film Market, Cannes Film Festival and markets abroad.
