AMRITSAR, India: Though India is extremely hostile against Pakistan and keeps Working Boundary under volley of mortar shells, Indian students are going to carry out Cycle expedition for peace from India Gate to Wagah Border from January 1, 2017.
The 4th Cycle expedition is being organized by ‘Milne Do’, a platform of concerned youth of India, and it aims at to promote neighborly friendly relationship between Pakistan and India for bringing peace and harmony in the region.
The peace journey will begin on January 1 from India Gate Lawns, passing through Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Sirhind, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar.
The Cycle expedition will be flagged off by Kuldeep Nayar, Justice Rajendra Sachchar, Ram Bahadur Rai and Professor Anand Kumar. Likewise, Arvind Gaur (Smita theatre), Smt. Dr. Alana Golmei, Smt. Sangeeta takhelmayumon and many other eminent persons will also be present on the occasion.
There may be around 100 cyclists representing students and youth including girls from the Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jamia-Millia-Islamia, and Universities and colleges from North Eastern and Southern regions.
Apart from that there may be a few young advocates from the High Court of Delhi and the Supreme Court of India along with many eminent citizen, joining the proposed Cycle expedition to Wagah border.
‘Milne Do’ had already conducted the Cycling expedition thrice for regional peace up to Wagah border in the past.
The first Cycling expedition was flagged off by the former Chief Minister of Kerala V.S. Achutanandan from Kanyakumari to Wagah Border in 2013, and then in 2014 and 2016, two more such events were organized from Delhi to Wagah Border.
Now ‘Milne Do’ is organizing it for the fourth time for bringing peace, tranquility and harmony in the region.
Moreover, a peace loving cycling team from Lahore ‘Critical Mass’ will also join the expedition from Wagah Border on January 8, 2017.
