ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday announced to withdraw forces personnel posted for security duties of all important personalities from tomorrow except for three constitutional offices.
Addressing a press conference after chairing a meeting to devise a national security policy, Khan said that security personnel should do what they are supposed and should not act as ‘chowkidars’ of important personalities.
He said that he himself has refused security for himself and hoped other personalities would also view the decision in this context.
But Khan said that three constitutional offices including the president, prime minister and the chief justice would be exempted from the decision.
Khan said thorough deliberations were held with civil armed forces today to formulate the national security policy, adding the policy will be announced in next few days after consultations with top brass of the military leadership.
Federal interior minister said that it has been decided to responsibility would be fixed in case of any terrorist attack so that shortcomings in the security plan are avoided.
He said that during the meeting it has also been decided to constitute a task force on the missing persons also.
