ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: At the time when the world observed International Day of Non-Violence, Indian occupation forces unleashed a fresh reign of terror on the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and turned the valley into the largest torture and open prison cell in the world.
This was stated by Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the Chairperson of Peace and Culture Organization, in her statement on the occasion of International Day of Non-Violence observed across the globe on Saturday.
She said that Indian barbarities continued to take a heavy toll on the Kashmiris but the world is blind to these inhuman acts and barbarities committing by the brutal forces in the valley.
Mushaal, who is the wife of illegally detained Muhammad Yasin Malik, lamented that the so-called proponents and advocates of peace and human rights could not do dare to speak against the fascist Narendra Modi government despite passing all limits of cruelties and vindictiveness.
Therefore, she said: “International Day of Non-Violence holds no relevance for the Kashmiris as they continue to suffer under violent Indian military occupation.”
The Hurriyat leader went on to say that people of Kashmir have been facing bullets, pellets, torture, incarcerations and sexual assaults at the hands of brutal Indian troops since decades but the world powers and human rights organizations are mere observing non-violence day rather than taking any concrete steps to check the ongoing state terrorism in the scenic valley.
Mushaal added that the occupied valley continued to simmer under inhuman military siege and the accounts of violence and torture by occupational forces are emerging on daily basis.
The chairperson said that gravity of the situation could be judged from the fact that 14 Kashmiris fell to Indian bullets only in September, taking the total death toll to 95,875 since Jan 1989 in IIOJK.
Moreover, she said that the Hindutva regime is hell-bent to bring demographic changes in IIOJK in a bid to convert the Muslim majority into the minority.
Hence, she suggested that the best way to mark International Day of Non-Violence is to censure India for its crimes against the Kashmiris and stop the Modi junta from committing gross violations of human rights and international laws in the valley.
Mushaal warned that the Modi-led BJP regime’s militaristic policy is imperiling peace and stability in South Asia and the world must take immediate cognizance of Indian illegal and destabilizing actions in IIOJK.
