South AsiaIranian Supreme Leader slams Muslims’ massacre in India

TEHRAN, Iran: Condemning the massacre of Muslims in India, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei has stressed upon the Indian government to tighten the noose around the extremist Hindus and their accomplices to halt Muslims’ massacre in order to prevent India’s isolation from the world of Islam.

“The hearts of Muslims all over the world are grieving over the massacre of Muslims in India,” Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said in a twitter message on Thursday.

The Iranian Supreme Leader further said that the Indian government should “confront extremist Hindus & their parties & stop the massacre of Muslims in order to prevent India’s isolation from the world of Islam.”

Earlier in a statement on March 2, the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif also denounced the wave of organized violence against Indian Muslims, and urged the Indian authorities to ensure the wellbeing of all Indians & not let senseless thuggery prevail.

However, his statement wasn’t received well in India as the Iranian Ambassador to New Delhi Ali Chegeni was summoned by the Indian the Ministry of External Affairs to register a protest on the grounds that it was India’s internal matter.
