ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui on Monday directed senior officials of his ministry to devise proper plans for implementation of Urdu as official language.
In this regard, a meeting was held here at ministry, presided over by the Advisor to Prime Minister.
It was decided in meeting that all possible facilities would be provided to all the divisions and ministries for implementation of Urdu.
The Advisor also directed the officials to introduce special training programmes for the implementation of Urdu.
Irfan Siddiqui said that all the provincial governments would be taken in to confidence to implement the national language in accordance with the Prime Minister’s ten-point directives.
Irfan Siddiqui directed the officials of his Division to initiate all official correspondence in Urdu on priority basis.
He said that the government is seriously working on implementation of national language in various divisions and ministries including provinces.
Secretary National History and Literary Division Mohsin S Haqqani, Joint Secretary Junaid Akhlaq, Pakistan Academy of Letters Director General Dr Rashid Hameed and Deputy Secretary Suhail Mufti also attended the meeting.
Earlier, Advisor to Prime Minister condoled the death of mother of Dr Rashid Hameed. He also offered fateha for the departed soul of mother of Dr Rashid Hameed.
