ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police Muhammad Amir Zulfiqar Khan and the President Chamber of Commerce have inaugurated the Air Petrol Unit, aiming at to use the modern technology to curb crimes in the Federal Capital.
Under the Air Petrol Unit, eight drone cameras equipped with advanced technology will be used for surveillance to control street crimes in the Federal Capital.
Drone cameras will also be used as the rescue operation to ensure the safety of tourists on walking trails.

Besides, an important initiative has also been taken with regard to the Community Policing.
In the first phase, it has been decided to introduce Street Watchers system at the street and sub-sectors level in the City Zone.
Under the initiative, the IG Islamabad has also inaugurated the Street Petrol Unit in which the Street Watchers will conduct patrolling and checking in various sectors and markets in peak timings.
Each Contingent will have four policemen riding on two motorcycles, and they will be deputed to control street crimes.
The IG Islamabad said that the Community Policing will remain in touch with each other through the mobile app.
